As the temperatures drop, it’ll soon be time to switch on our central heating – but while this makes our homes warm and cosy, it also acts as a trigger for some unwanted guests.
Once temperatures reach 21°C the flea lifecycle speeds up. Fleas can survive in the home without contact to animals for up to a few months and during this time they continue to reproduce.
It is important to regularly treat pets as fleas can live for 2-4 weeks in the adult stage. Bob Martin recommends treating a dog every eight weeks to ensure he remains free of fleas. Treating the home at the same time as treating your dog is equally important.
