35 days in the life of a rescue dog

DSCF6120

A Manchester Dogs’ Home volunteer is planning to spend 35 consecutive days and nights living in a kennel at the Dogs’ Home from 5 October to 9 November 2013 in a bid to raise awareness around stray dogs in the rehoming process.

Sean Le Vegan had the idea for Kennel 35 project when he realised that ex-strays spend a total of 35 days in the Dogs’ Home, on average, while waiting for a new home.

Sean says: “I really wanted to help people reconnect with the dogs by illustrating what it might be like to spend 35 days and nights in an alien environment before being rehomed.”

You can donate to watch Sean’s progress on a webcam, or well-wishers will be able to pay to visit Sean in his kennel, which is a regular Dogs’ Home kennel with no extra comforts.
