Internet users everywhere were left enraged when, over the past week, a video showing a puppy being thrown off a roof in India went viral. The disturbing video, shot in slow motion, shows a man grabbing a whimpering pup and throwing her off a roof, and ends with the dog's cries after the fall. Animal rights groups and local law enforcement immediately began working to track down the two individuals who shot the video, and the two were arrested - only to be quickly released on bail.
Outrage for the leniency was immediate, but the story was not over yet: the pup, whom everyone had simply assumed to have died from the fall, was found alive: she is no older than five months and has now been named Bhadra, meaning "blessed" in Hindi.
Animal right activist Shravan Krishnan, who found her not far away from the spot where she was thrown, immediately sought medical treatment for her.

Bhadra turned out to have a broken leg and spine, but is expected to recover.
Updates on her recovery are being followed by thousands - and Bhadra seems to be quite enjoying her fame...
Shravan has said that he'll keep fostering Bhadra until she fully recovers, and which point she'll be ready to move on to her forever home.
