As the Pokémon GO craze grips the world, it seems everyone is getting in on the action, including some of the dogs at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

Battersea dogs Ria and Abbey, who are both searching for their forever home, enjoyed a morning walk in Battersea Park today (22 July) and were joined by some unusual companions – including Drowzee, Oddish, Psyduck, and Pidgey, all characters from the augmented reality game Pokémon GO.

Greyhound Ria and Staffordshire Bull Terrier Abbey – both six years old – have been at Battersea awaiting new homes since April. Rehoming and Welfare Assistant Danielle Hopkins commented, "We decided to take Ria and Abbey Pokémon hunting as they have such great temperaments and get on well with other dogs and people. As we expected, it turns out they are very friendly with Pokémon too!"

Volunteer dog walkers Nicola Noakes and Tracey Morgan were on hand to walk Abbey and Ria, while Pokémon Trainers turned their attention to trying to catch ‘em all.
