Could it be lucky Furi-day 13th for one homeless hound?

Unlucky for some, but could it be lucky for others? Staff at Dogs Trust Merseyside hope this Friday brings a new forever home for one of their homeless hounds.

A friendly young Staffordshire Bull Terrier has been at the Rehoming Centre since October after her owners found her youthful energy a little too much.

Three-year-old Romany is a very friendly girl who loves to investigate and now the team hope that she will defy the odds of the unlucky date and a local family will open their home and their hearts to her.

Georgina Lowery, the Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, says, "We are really hoping that owners put any superstitions to one side and consider giving Romany the home she deserves. She’s such a loving dog and incredibly friendly to everyone she meets, though she is quite relaxed particularly in the mornings and is often last out of bed!

"Romany is a happy, confident, lively girl. She has learned to play and thoroughly enjoys chasing a ball which she very nicely brings back too. She has had some training from her previous family and has lovely manners. She really deserves to find a wonderful family who can continue to help her get the most out of life.

"When she finds her forever home, we think her new owners will be very lucky to have her as she’s such a sweet and friendly girl."

Romany could live with a family with children aged over 12 but will need to be the only dog in the home. She would thrive with an active family who have the time to help her continue her training.
