Tap the Dogs at Crufts

If you're at Crufts today (10 March), be on the lookout for Blue Cross' Tap Dogs!

With contactless card payments on the rise, more and more of us walk out of home without cash. It's very practical, but we may sometimes regret it when we come across a charity fundraiser and realise we have no spare coins on us to give. For fundraising teams, this calls for new measures.

Teaming up with PayPal, Blue Cross has equipped canines with specially designed contactless payment jackets; Gracie the Italian Spinone will be showing off hers in Hall 3, at stand 52. Equipped with PayPal Here contactless card readers, the jacket makes donating to the charity easier than ever: all you need to do is tap - and possibly pet, which is not necessary but very much appreciated - the dog!

The card reader, fitted into a pocket in the coat, connects to the PayPal Here smartphone app, operated by a - human - Blue Cross volunteer, which is set to take a £2 donation. If you'd like to donate more, or request a receipt of your donation, simply talk to the human - with no need to tap or pet them.
