Kensington Palace in London is hosting the Dashing Dog Show on Saturday 18 June. Organised by the charity Historic Royal Palaces, you can enter your pooch in up to seven fun competitive classes and there will also be doggie games, obedience training, flyball and live entertainment. The event runs from 10am to 5pm.
Entry is £10 per dog, but people go free! Places are strictly limited so advance booking and registration for classes is strongly recommended; see www.hrp.org.uk/playyourpart for full details.

On Sunday 19 June the annual Langport Companion Dog Show, at Cocklemoor, Somerset, is being held in aid of Pets As Therapy and The Langport Events Group. Pedigree, novelty and fun classes will be the order of the day, from the ‘waggiest tail’ class to ‘hunt the sausage’, together with stalls, a hog roast and a real ale bar. Entries will be taken from 12 noon on the day, £1 per dog per class. For more information email miles@milesdawson.co.uk
