It’s Tick Bite Prevention Week! The campaign, which aims to raise awareness about ticks and the potential health risks, is taking place 24-30 March 2013.
Wendy Fox, Founder and Chair of BADA-UK, says: “Tick bites can cause allergic reactions, abscesses and transmit harmful diseases to pets that may be difficult and expensive to treat. Yet, with a few simple precautions, these could be avoided.”
Nick Sutton, health information officer at the Kennel Club, adds: “If your dog is unfortunate enough to contract a tick-borne infection, then being aware of the warning signs will allow him to receive vital early veterinary treatment.”
