On Thursday 10 October 2013, dainty Dachshunds and jolly Jack Russells will be limbering up to take the ‘pawlitical’ lead. Dogs of all shapes and sizes, belonging to a host of MPs from all over the UK, will battle it out at Westminster to win the coveted title of ‘Westminster Dog of the Year’.
Jointly organised by Dogs Trust and the Kennel Club, the competition offers the unique chance for MPs to show off their perfect pooches to showcase their bond and highlight the companionship that dogs can offer. As well as this, the competition encourages an open dialogue on important dog welfare issues.
