Celebrities turned out in force last night, Thursday, November 7, to help raise funds for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home at the charity’s Collars & Coats Gala Ball. The evening was hosted by TV favourites Amanda Holden and Paul O’Grady and was presided over by HRH Prince Michael of Kent and HRH Princess Michael of Kent. Dog-loving stars on hand for the event, which paid homage to the golden age of cinema, included football legend Gary Lineker and author Jacqueline Wilson. Guests were encouraged to donate to the charity, which helped 9,000 dogs and cats last year, through donations and auctions. An online auction offers bidders the chance to win a walk in the park with dog-loving celebrities, such as Jeremy Irons, at www.collarsandcoats.org.uk/ebay. Hurry though, the auction ends at midnight!
