A Chihuahua who won Best Puppy in Breed at this year’s Crufts has been stolen, along with four others, after raiders smashed their way into the owners’ home in Lissett, near Driffield, East Yorkshire on Thursday.
Owners Mal Hilton and his partner Lucy Hilton are devastated by the loss of champion pup Valenchino Made of Candy, known as Xena, her mother Io, grandmother Angel, and two other Chihuahuas, Pandora and Evie. They fear the dogs may be harmed once the thieves realise they are impossible to sell.
Said Mr Hilton: “We are devastated by this. I just want someone to hand them in – to the RSPCA, to a vet, to anywhere safe. It doesn’t matter, just leave them somewhere so we can get them back.”
Anyone with any information should contact Humberside police by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
