As the week-long ‘Walk Your Dog’ challenge gets underway – from Monday 28 April to Monday 5 May, 2014 – we’re asking whether you’re up for exploring pastures new!
The challenge, spearheaded by Forestry Commission England and supported by several of the UK’s top canine charities, including the Kennel Club, PDSA, Dogs Trust and Yellow Dog UK, is set to encourage dog owners to explore further afield and feel the benefit of regular daily exercise.
“We’re calling on dog owners up and down the country to take the Walk Your Dog Week challenge and help their dogs get fitter,” says Simon Hodgson, chief executive of Forestry Commission England.
To inspire dog owners, Forestry Commission England has published the Ruff Guide to the Forest, which offers information on local dog-friendly activities in more than 35 woods and forests. Find out more at www.forestry.gov.uk/dogs, and to enter the challenge email [email protected]
