The RSPCA is appealing to the public for information about Susie, an elderly Jack Russell with a large tumour who was found outside St Barnabas Church in Marsh Green, Wigan. She is thought to be about 14 and is chipped, but the details on the chip are not up to date, meaning they can’t be used to find her owner.
RSPCA inspector Susie Micallef says there is a chance she was dumped because of her tumour.
“Susie is in a bad way. She has a very large tumour on her mammary gland which could have potentially spread elsewhere,” she says. “We cannot say for sure how long she has had this tumour for, but the likelihood is that she has been in pain and discomfort for a long time.”
Susia is now in the care of the RSPCA, who are trying to find out where she comes from and how she’s come to be so callously dumped. Anyone with information about her can contact the charity in confidence on 0300 123 8018.
