At the end of May, a unique Paws for The Big Lunch party was held in front of the Shard in London.
It brought dog owners together for some food and fun…
…and celebrated both what unites us, and what makes us different.
Research shows that dogs are a great way to bring people together after all. We are 55% more likely to start a conversation with someone if they have a dog.
In fact, dog owners on average have 6 chats a week with new people, as a direct result of their canine friend.
The idea behind The Big Lunch is simple. Neighbours should get together for a meal in June, to enjoy the company of each other and build on their sense of community – and perhaps eat a spot of cake…
This special dog-themed edition was a simple prelude – yes, a pre-party! – to raise awareness of 2016’s upcoming main event. The Big Lunch will be held on Sunday 12 June – its eighth year.
In 2015, 7.29 million people took to the streets for The Big Lunch (plus an unknown number of dogs!).
