Homeless hounds from Dogs Trust Manchester will be putting their best paw forward at Heaton Park Family Fun Day on Sunday 3 July.
The Rehoming Centre’s Summer Fun Day is expected to attract thousands of dog-lovers and it’s hoped one of the visitors will spot their dream canine companion.
Lucy Marsh, Supporter Relations Officer, says, “There’s fun for all the family and their dogs! There are lots of activities such as a Fun Dog Show, games like Musical Sit and loads of activities for children to enjoy too. But we’re also hoping that when our dogs who haven’t been as lucky in life as many that will be there on the day take to the show ring, they steal the heart of people in the crowd and find their perfect homes.”
There will be classes ranging from Waggiest Tail and Best Party Trick to Scruffiest Companion and the ultimate winner, Best in Show, for visitors to take part in. There will also be Have-A-Go-Agility, games such as Catch the Sausage and Sniffer Dog Demonstrations. For children there will be face painting, craft classes and dog-themed games including Scoop the (Fake) Poop. There will also be tombolas, a raffle, market stalls, homemade cakes and a BBQ.
The event is 11am-4pm, entry £3 for adults and under 16s go free. It will take place near Heaton Hall. The nearest car park is Hall (North) Car Park, accessed off Saint Margaret’s Road. (M25 2GT)
