Registered charity Greyhound Walks will be holding their annual Charity Dog Show at Great Notley Country Park on Sunday 14th August.
With visitors coming from far and wide, it’s a great opportunity for hound fans to see Greyhounds in all sorts of colours, as well as Lurchers, Afghans, Salukis, Borzois, Galgos and many others.
Greyhound Walks started in Braintree 10 years ago and now walks every week in either Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk or Hertfordshire with the aim of promoting Greyhounds as wonderful, gentle family pets.
The show, sponsored by Spring Lodge Veterinary Group, opens at 10 a.m. There is no charge for entry but there is a £5 charge for all day parking. There will be lots of stalls selling canine goodies, craft stalls, family fun and games, plus delicious food. There are two Greyhound, Lurcher and other Sighthound Judging Rings which run all day and judging in the Mixed Breed Show Ring starts at 12 noon for all other breeds.
Show Director, Dave Peacock says, “Seeing our event grow and grow over the years to become the ‘must do’ dog show for sighthound lovers in the south east has been amazing. Our volunteers work really hard to make it a great day for hounds and humans alike and even though over the years we’ve been burnt by the sun, blown by the wind and bedraggled by the rain we always have a brilliant event.”
