Admittedly, this Staffie cross’ name may cause some confusion – but it was set in stone the moment she arrived a the Blue Cross Tiverton rehoming centre and proved herself to be a “snuggle bunny”, in the words of the staff. Her affectionate nature defied her past: she had been found as a stray, underweight and suffering from a chronic skin condition that caused her a lot of discomfort.

BunnyThe Blue Cross staff is hoping to find her a new home – but nine months have gone by, and she is still at the centre.

Lauren Chilton, Animal Welfare Assistant at Tiverton, said, “I think that we are largely struggling to find a home for Bunny as she is a staffie mix and has a chronic skin condition caused by allergies – but this is really easily managed with a special diet and medicated shampoo baths. Simple things like using a soft detergent for bedding and changing it regularly, ensuring she sticks to her diet and making sure you vacuum regularly to clear dust mites can all help keep skin allergies at bay.”

According to Lauren, Bunny is full of character and loves people.

“She enjoys her walks and then lounging across your lap when she comes home! She is looking to be the only pet in the home, but could live with school age children pending introductions at the centre.”
