Dogs Trust Canterbury is searching for the perfect partner for dancing homeless hound Fionn, who’s hidden talent has been revealed after a over a year at the centre.
The six-year-old lurcher has turned out to be quite the talented performer, and as Strictly Come Dancing fever grips the nation, the team at the Rehoming Centre are hoping that Fionn will find his perfect partner soon.
Dogs Trust Canterbury Rehoming Centre Manager, Harriet Blaskett, comments, “Fionn is fab-u-lous! He came to us more than a year ago and over the months we’ve certainly uncovered his talents!
“As a Lurcher he has quite long legs which are ideal for dancing around our training hall. He loves nothing more than partnering up with one of our canine carers to work through a little routine.
“He likes to begin his performance by shaking paws with his partner before they head off in ‘paw-fect’ time across the floor, doing a turn or two and ending with his favourite position – gently placing his paws on his partner’s knee. Occasionally he even brings his performance to an end with a bow!”
Fionn was discovered wandering the streets in June last year, but despite shunning the limelight at first he is now more than happy to be the centre of attention.
Harriet says, “He really is a star and definitely gets top marks from us! We would just love it if his glitter ball moment took the shape of a new home and he danced off to his new life with his special someone very soon.”
Fionn is looking for an adult only home where he can enjoy learning new things and then cosying up for a snuggle on the sofa. He would prefer to be the star attraction in his forever home so would like to be the only dog. The training and behaviour team at Dogs Trust Canterbury will work with his new owners to help him settle into his new home.
If you think you could be Fionn’s special someone please call Dogs Trust Canterbury on 0300 303 0292.
