Derby PDSA Pet Hospital, which has been caring for the city’s pets since 1957, is starring on the new official MONOPOLY board game for the city, released on 14 October.
PDSA was one of two charities to be voted onto the board in a Derby MONOPOLY charity poll held earlier this year, snatching up its very own Community Chest square.
Aimee Labbate, Senior Vet at Derby PDSA Pet Hospital, said, “We are all incredibly excited about PDSA featuring on the new Derby MONOPOLY board. We’d like to say a very big thank you to everyone who voted for us. It’s wonderful to know that so many local people value the help we have provided over the decades. We are honoured to be at the heart of such a proud and caring community and feel it is very fitting that we will now feature on our very own Community Chest square.”
Ben Thompson from Winning Moves UK, developers of the MONOPOLY: Derby Edition board, said, “A very big congratulations to PDSA for making it onto the board, along with the Maria Hanson foundation. The Derby MONOPOLY charity poll was extremely popular and thank you to everyone who made nominations.”
The Derby MONOPOLY board features both the dog and cat moving pieces and, according to Aimee, this might cause a bit of a dispute at the vet charity over who gets to use them first.
