Pet food brand Barking Heads, Meowing Heads are launching a ‘12 Days of Christmas’ campaign on social media to celebrate the work of animal charities across the UK – and to reward them.

Throughout the campaign, the public will be asked to nominate charities whose work they admire. Any organisation working to protect and improve animal welfare, from shelters to fundraising groups, can be nominated to become prize winners in twelve separate giveaways. The winning charities will receive food for the animals in their care, and so will those who nominated them. On the final giveaway, a 12kg bag of ‘Turkey Delight’ will be awarded to an organisation Barking Heads believe have been “truly outstanding in their care for animals”.

The 12 Days of Christmas campaign begins on the 1st December, with the giveaways taking place until 24 December.

Paul Hunter, co-founder of Barking Heads, said, “Traditionally giveaways on social media are for customers to win products, but this Christmas, we’ve decided to give something back to the charities who care for animals instead – many of whom will be working harder than ever during the Christmas period. It’s easy to get swept up in gift buying and pampering both ourselves and our pets at Christmas time. We hope our 12 Days of Christmas campaign will get pet owners thinking about goodwill over the festive season.”
