The RSPCA is appealing for information regarding a male Shih tzu who was was found in Braunstone Close, Leicester, on Thursday 30 November.

Kain – thus named by the RSPCA staff – had clearly suffered severe neglect for quite some time: his fur was so matted he was struggling to see and walk.kain3

RSPCA inspector Sally Kearns said, “Poor Kain was in such a state when he was found – he has clearly not been cared for in some time. His fur was extremely matted, however he had this clipped at a vets and he looks like a completely different dog now!

“We are concerned about where he came from and why he was so badly neglected, and also the possibility that there may be other animals where he came from, who may also be neglected.”
As Kain wasn’t microchipped, there is no telling where he came from. In a bid to find out, the RSPCA is urging anyone who might know anything about him to get in touch, in complete confidence, by calling 0300 123 8018.
