Eska is a 3-year-old American Bulldog/Boxer cross, who came in the care of Freshfields Animal Rescue as a stray almost a year ago. Eska was adopted quickly, but soon returned as the new owners found the young, energetic god to be too much to handle. The fact she’s such an active young dog means she’s been struggling to cope in kennels.
“Poor Eska needs to find a home as she is not doing well at all in kennels,” says Debbie Hughes, from Freshfields Animal Rescue. “At the moment she has a room at the Rescue Centre to herself, to minimise stress and noise, but unfortunately the room is going to be needed as we are refurbishing the building to make space for a vet room. She is due to go into the main Kennel block, and we need to find her a loving home as soon as we can. The last thing we want is for Eska to have to move into a Kennel, as it may cause her behaviour to deteriorate making it even harder to find her a home.
“Eska is such a loving dog. She is a great big goofy, happy lump and we adore her. She will make a wonderful friend.”
Eska is loving, affectionate and full of fun towards humans, although she can be dog-reactive and would need to be the only dog in an adult-only house, with someone who can be around her most of the day. According to the rescue, Eska loves nothing more than a cuddle with a comfy human to use as a pillow. As she is very strong, she will need someone who can handle her on walk and properly teach her to walk on lead.
