Following the success of their charity Christmas fundraiser ‘Santa Paws’ last month, The Mercat Grill in East Lothian have announced their next charity event – a canine coffee morning.
The award-winning, dog-friendly bar & restaurant raised £300 for the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home (edch) from its Christmas extravaganza and have raised £1737.36 in total for the charity. Hoping to raise more, The Mercat Grill will be holding a ‘Doggy Coffee Morning’, on Sunday 26th February, from 10am until midday, all in aid of the edch.
Owner of the Mercat Grill, Graham Blaikie said, “Everyone together with their tail-wagging friends had a brilliant time at Santa Paws, as they soaked up the Christmas atmosphere and enjoyed some drinks, food and a special visit from Santa! We love dogs at our venue and fully cater for people and pooches, with quality food and drinks (from gourmet treats to doggy beers)! We’re delighted to have raised £300 between ourselves and our dog loving customers for the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. The charity does an amazing job caring for the animals and rehoming them.
“Our Doggy Coffee Morning on 26th February, should be another great social event for owners and their dogs to mix and mingle with like-minded dog friendly folks over a coffee/tea and bacon/egg roll and a treat for their pooch – all for £10, with all proceeds going to the edch charity.”
