We all know what we look for in a dog, but have you ever wondered what dogs would look for when picking their perfect human?
Staff at Dogs Trust Glasgow decided to swap places with canine residents to find out – and, to everyone’s astonishment, humans with “lots of treats” ranked high on the list of requirements. Who would have guessed?
Five-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Keeva, seen here filling out her paw-perwork, is looking for an owner capable of continuing her training and prepared to provide plenty of cuddles. High energy levels are also a requirement, but Keeva would also love space to relax, and to be the only dog in the house.
Sandra Lawton, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Glasgow, said, “As much as our April Fools’ Day antics are a bit of tongue-in-cheek humour, there is also a serious message to be taken out of this around the responsibility of owning a dog. Choosing a rescue dog shouldn’t just be about fulfilling the needs of a dog owner; it should also be about meeting the needs of the dog in order to give them the best possible life.
“Keeva is a gentle soul who will make the perfect companion for the right owner and we hope this will be her last April Fools’ Day in Kennels before meeting her special someone.”
