A pet gone missing is any owner’s worst nightmare, and according to research from Pet 24 Database, one in three pets will go missing at some point. Now Pets at Home are utilising their VIP Club community to help reunite owners quickly with their lost pets, with a new 24-hour missing pet service.
The new Find My VIP service has been launched as part of the Pets at Home app. If a dog goes missing, the app will provide the rest of the community with their name, breed, temperament and last seen location. If found, owners can call the 24-hour missing pet helpline to reunite the lost animal with its owner.
The app effectively turns the five million members who’ve signed up to their VIP Club into one giant search party. To use the service, owners need to purchase a Find My VIP collar ID from a Pets at Home store or online, and register the unique eight digit ID on the tag online or via the app, which is free to download. If the worst does happen, you can immediately send out an alert to other VIP members in the area.
If the found dog needs veterinary attention as a result of going missing, Pets at Home will cover the cost of treatment and the helpline will arrange for the owner and pet to be reunited as soon as possible.
