Animal charity Blue Cross has teamed up with U.S based Outdoor Arts Foundation and internationally acclaimed photographer Drew Gardner to launch BowWow Haus London, the UK’s first public exhibition of bespoke dog kennels.
The project, which is expected to launch early next year, will feature a collection of one-off, unique kennels designed and built by accomplished architects, artists, designers and builders from the U.K, North and South American, China and Australia.
Eighty-five participants have already signed up to display their work at iconic London venues such as St.Pancras International and the kennels will remain on display for several months, before being auctioned off to raise money for Blue Cross.
You can expect to see contemporary pavilions to mosaic and glass tile masterpieces. For project Director Jay Goulde of the Outdoor Arts Foundation, organising BowWow Haus London is a dream come true, “This is something I’ve wanted to do for over a decade. I’ve always loved British culture and having the opportunity to both raise funds for awareness for Blue Cross and promote the arts in a country I adore is simply amazing.”
Wendy Spinks, Commercial Director of HS1 Ltd, the company that owns and operates St Pancras International, says, “We are happy to support the BowWow Haus London project and help raise funds for Blue Cross. We often introduce installations at the station that make the station users smile as they go about their journey, and as part of this project the station will be home to some amazing designs for homes for dogs. This will form part of the activities at the station during 2018, the 150th Anniversary of St Pancras station.”
