Mayhew’s annual black tie fundraiser returned for another year at The Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Tuesday night.
The charity extravaganza raised nearly £30,000 on the night to help continue Mayhew’s work in the UK and overseas. The star-studded guest list included host KISS FM presenter Pandora Christie, TV stars Pete Wicks and Stephanie Pratt, vet Marc Abraham and wildlife presenter Anneka Svenska. Entertainment was provided by BBC’s Pitch Battle contestants, The Noteables, an award winning pop chamber choir directed by comedian, Vikki Stone.
Guests had an opportunity to bid on amazing experiences at the event’s exclusive auction. Prizes included tickets to a film premiere in the West End, 1995 Classic BMW driving experience at Silverstone and VIP tickets to The Play That Goes Wrong.
A video that showcased the work of Mayhew was also shown on the night, featuring their work in the community providing support to vulnerable pet owners and homeless animals, and also their vital work overseas.
Mayhew’s CEO, Caroline Yates, said, “It was a fantastic night and we raised an incredibly amount. Tinsel & Tails is always a fantastic event, bringing together our dogs, guests, supporters and celebrity friends for one night only.
“The fundraiser was a great opportunity to highlight Mayhew’s range of proactive community outreach work including our onsite vet clinic, addressing animal welfare cases, working with the homeless and our ground-breaking work in Afghanistan.
“We receive no lottery or government funding, so rely solely on the generous donations of our supporters. The money raised from the evening will go towards us helping more animals in need in the UK and overseas.”
