To celebrate National Pet Month (1 April – 7 May), the Mercat Grill in East Lothian, Scotland, is organising a ‘Bring Your Pooch to the Pub Day’ on Sunday 8 April.
The award-winning, dog-friendly bar and restaurant is inviting owners to bring their four-legged friend along for a Sunday roast for owner and pooch for just £12.95. Come along between 12pm and 3pm. All proceeds will go to the Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home.
Owner of the Mercat Grill, Graham Blaikie said, “It should be great event and a tasty treat for the people and pups! Our head chef ’s Sunday roast is slow roasted and dished up with full of flavour, seasonal vegetables, roasted and mashed potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, sage & onion stuffing and drizzled with our rich, homemade gravy. We’re sure both you and your four-legged friend will thoroughly enjoy the food and company in our cosy, relaxed pub.”
National Pet Month (NPM) seeks to promote responsible pet ownership and raise funds for animal charities across the UK by encouraging people to hold events just like the Mercat Grill.
Michael Bellingham, new chairman of NPM said, “We’re delighted that the Mercat Grill is holding such a great event to celebrate our relationship with our pets. They give so much to us – in return we need to look after them responsibly to keep them healthy and happy – follow our Top Ten Tips (included in notes to editors).
“The event is also raising funds for the Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home. We hope everybody involved has a great time in the process.”
