Visitors to the Southport Flower Show can bring along a very special guest this summer – their pet dog.
For the first time in the event’s 89-year history, families are welcome to bring along their four-legged friends to the seaside venue in Victoria Park.
Previously, only guide dogs were permitted but visitors frequently asked if they could bring their dogs along for a fun day out. This year dogs will be admitted for no extra charge but must be kept on leads at all times.
General Manager Ray Roukin said, “We know the Southport Flower Show is hugely popular with dog lovers and we’re always being asked by visitors if they can bring their pets along.
“2018 will be the Year of the Dog at Southport.”
The Southport Flower Show takes place from Thursday 16 until Sunday 19th August and will also feature a new Arena entertainment programme, with acts to be announced closer to the event. For further information go here.
